A woman and a teenager were killed after being hit by Indian bombing from across the Control Line (LoC) on Sunday, residents and officials said. <\/p>\n
The victims occurred in the Nakyal sector of Kotli District, which has been constantly experiencing physical and material losses in violations of the ceasefire by Indian troops, they said. <\/p>\n
The bombing began at approximately 3 p.m. and was indiscriminate at first, said Raja Muhammad Akmal, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Kotli.<\/p>\n
Later, its intensity was reduced and by 6:30 pm it stopped, he added.<\/p>\n
Residents said that at least two houses in the village of Daryari Palani were hit by the bombings, as a result of which Salamat Bibi, 60, and Razia Bibi, 30, were injured in a house and Zeeshan Ayub, 13 years, in the other.<\/p>\n
"My mother had just gone to the house next to Muhammad Wasim when suddenly the Indian troops resorted to the bombing," said Salamat Bibi's son, Chaudhry Khurshid. Dawn<\/em> by phone from the Tehsil headquarters Hospital in Nakyal.<\/p>\n "Suddenly, a projectile fell on Wasim's house and wounded his wife Razia Bibi and my mother," he added. <\/p>\n The three were taken to the ill-equipped THQ hospital where doctors declared Salamat Bibi "dead upon arrival."<\/p>\n Razia Bibi and Zeeshan were referred to the district headquarters hospital in Kotli after initial treatment, but Zeeshan succumbed to his injuries after a short trip. <\/p>\n The distance between Nakyal and Kotli is about 37 kilometers, but residents say it takes them more than an hour and a half to transfer their injured from the THQ Hospital in Nakyal to the DHQ Hospital in Kotli due to the poor condition of the road. <\/p>\n "Zeeshan was taken to hospital (DHQ) dead," said Zaheer Abbas, a medical technologist at DHQ Hospital Dawn<\/em>. He said Razia Bibi had been admitted and was out of danger.<\/p>\n The funeral prayers of the deceased lady were offered on the grounds of Boys Degree College in Nakyal. <\/p>\n On Saturday night, Nazia Shakil, 32, and her son Nauman, 6, were injured after a projectile landed in the courtyard of their home in Fatehpur village and severely damaged it, the police officer said.
