              <!-- fixed --><\/p>\n<p>                        <!-- text --><\/p>\n<p>Port Houston continues to increase cargo due to the collision of steel and shipping containers.<\/p>\n<p>    <!-- text --><\/p>\n<p>Roger Guenther, governor of Port Houston, said that by August this week, cargo shipments increased by 7{7be40b84a6a43fc4fae13304fce9a2695859798abfc41afd127b9f8b21c5f9c5} to about 30 million tons across the Port Houston docks, with a 20-foot equivalent of a typical industrial measure for containers, namely TEU 11 Reported a percentage increase. At nearly 2 million TEU, Guenther reported that Port Houston will approach 3 million TEU by the end of this year.<\/p>\n<p>    <!-- text --><\/p>\n<p><strong>Related: Port Houston, Container Records Report, Truck Gate Expansion Ready<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>    <!-- zone --><\/p>\n<p>                    <!-- text --><\/p>\n<p>Port Houston operates, manages or rents eight public terminals with more than 70 docks where cargo such as containers and steel are unloaded. He is also a regional patron of the federally maintained Houston Ship Channel, which helps with the management of waterways and the environment.<\/p>\n<p>    <!-- fixed --><\/p>\n<p>            <!-- fixed --><br \/>\n                                <!-- hearst\/ads\/duplicatable.tpl --><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/ hearst\/ads\/duplicatable.tpl -->            <!-- text --><\/p>\n<p>And during the monthly port commission of the Houston Port Authority meeting this week, the commissioners approved up to $ 5.5 million contracts for professional services for engineering, design and project coordination of the expansion and deepening of the Houston Ship Channel.<\/p>\n<p>    <!-- text --><\/p>\n<p>The contract was awarded to TC &amp; B \/ GBA, a joint venture between Turner Collie &amp; Braden and Gahagan &amp; Bryant Associates.<\/p>\n<p>    <!-- text --><\/p>\n<p><strong>HoustonChronicle.com: Legal Experts Add Potential Obstacles to Large Container Ships<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>    <!-- text --><\/p>\n<p>Planned channel expansion and deepening will be the 11th major ship channel expansion project.
