LONDON: The central figure in the controversy surrounding the leaked videos of the district judge and sessions Arshad Malik appeared here on Monday and was seen presenting "evidence" to the High Commission of Pakistan. <\/p>\n
The leader of the Pakistan-Nawaz Muslim League, Nasir Butt, who is said to have recorded the controversial statements of Judge Malik, approached the high commission in London to present what is claimed as "authenticated evidence" of the videos. The images of Mr. Butt entering the mission facilities in Lowndes Square appeared on social media. <\/p>\n
The high commission did not comment on the details of his visit, but an official said Dawn<\/em> that Mr. Butt came for "consular services" and that the consular department was processing his request in the matter. <\/p>\n Butt was the center of attention on July 6 this year, when the PML-N leadership held a press conference and alleged that the judge had been "blackmailed" to pass a verdict against former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the Al-Azizia reference. <\/p>\n The Vice President of PML-N, Maryam Nawaz, made public a set of videos at the press conference, which allegedly shows Mr. Butt in a conversation with Judge Malik in the latter's house. <\/p>\n The PML-N accuses Judge Malik of condemning Mr. Sharif under duress. However, the judge says he was blackmailed by supporters of PML-N. <\/p>\n In July, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) raided a Rawalpindi house owned by Mr. Butt and claimed to have recovered "important documents." <\/p>\n Judge Malik had already filed a case with the FIA \u200b\u200bagainst Butt and others.
