Turkey's defense minister said Sunday Turkey and US troops conducted joint ground patrols for a planned safe zone east of Syria's Euphrates.<\/p>\n

Earlier in the day, six armored vehicles with Turkish flags joined the 1884-mile US military carrier, 30 km from the southeastern Akcakale region of Sanliurfa. <\/p>\n

The Allies advanced south from Tal Avid, Syria. <\/p>\n

On August 7, Turkey and US military officials agreed to develop a peace corridor to promote the movement of displaced protesters who wanted to establish a safe zone in northern Syria and return home. <\/p>\n

It also agreed to establish a joint operations center. <\/p>\n
