KARACHI – The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) and global markets reacted positively after US President Donald Trump announced that the war with Iran would soon end.<\/p>\n
President Trump said in the interview that most of Iran’s naval, air and military capabilities have been neutralized and the conflict is nearly complete.<\/p>\n
Oil prices plummeted after the announcement, with Brent crude falling 8% to $90 per barrel. This news also energized stock markets around the world.<\/p>\n
Locally, the Pakistan Stock Exchange showed strength with the KSE-100 index surging 9,728 points to trade at 156,209.<\/p>\n
The KSE-100 index rose 6.7%, with trading temporarily suspended for 45 minutes as the KSE-100 rose 9,303 points to 155,783.<\/p>\n
Asian markets also showed an upward trend in early trading, with the Hong Kong stock market rising 1.2%, the Korean stock market rising 6.2%, and Japan’s Nikkei index rising 3.2%.<\/p>\n
