The attack structurally damaged the facility, a symbol of friendship between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates.<\/p>\n<p>Built in 1993, the airport is named after the founding father of the UAE, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and has long symbolized bilateral cooperation between the two countries.<\/p>\n<p>The attack followed another attempted attack by India on Nankana Sahib, a city of deep religious and cultural significance.
