The two candidates, Hugo and Marinho, beat two other BJJ champions and met in the finals, where they had some very intense and competitive opening minutes.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">After going back and forth in the early going, WNO light heavyweight champion Marinho made a mistake that completely derailed the match. When the referee awarded him a penalty for passive behavior (a call that did not stop the action), Marinho complained and turned his back on his opponent. Hugo took advantage and tackled a distracted Marinho to the ground for a straight mount takedown.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Marinho had one advantage before that, but that mistake proved incredibly costly as Hugo completely dominated the match, winning the match 15-2.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">The five-time IBJJF world champion Hugo beat three men in one night and ultimately won by a landslide. <strong>malon tajik<\/strong>, <strong>Javier Barter<\/strong> And Marinho won $50,000.
