Hosts England will face Sri Lanka in the opening match on June 12, while the final will be played at the iconic Lord&#8217;s Cricket Ground on July 5.<\/p>\n<p>India and Pakistan were drawn in Group A along with Australia, South Africa, Bangladesh and the Netherlands. Their meeting in the group stage is sure to attract worldwide attention given the history and intensity of the rivalry. Matches between the two sides at ICC events in recent years have attracted record crowds, highlighting the growth of the women&#8217;s game.<\/p>\n<p>Group B includes England, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, West Indies, Ireland and Scotland. Ireland and Scotland will kick off their campaign against each other in an all-European clash at Old Trafford on June 13. They will now join defending champions New Zealand, first-time champions England, 2016 champions West Indies, six-time champions Australia and current ODI world champions India in a fiercely contested tournament.<\/p>\n<p>ICC Chief Executive Officer Sanjog Gupta described the release of the schedule as a key milestone in preparations for the global event.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe release of the 2026 ICC Women\u2019s T20 World Cup schedule is an important milestone in our preparations for the premier global sporting event,\u201d Gupta said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis event is a continuation of the ICC\u2019s ongoing investment in women\u2019s cricket across increased participation, high-performance pathways, event and production standards, tournament prize money, expanded media distribution and commercial partnerships, all towards the goal of securing higher levels of interest, belonging and status for fans around the world,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe ICC Women\u2019s Cricket World Cup in India has multiplied the power of the sport to break records, capture imaginations and inspire communities.
