\nReliance Communications today released a 5.8% increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 54 crore for the three-month period ended June 30. <\/p>\n

RCom, led by Anil Ambani, which today agreed to merge its wireless telecommunications business with its smaller rival Aircel to create the country's fourth largest mobile operator, had posted a net profit of Rs 51 million in the same period a year ago. year.

Total consolidated income from operations decreased 4.7% to Rs 5,259 crore in the reported quarter from Rs 5,521 crore recorded in the corresponding period a year ago. <\/p>\n

"The results for the quarter affected by the migration of CDMA clients to 4G LTE. RCom 4G LTE services are now fully operational across India," RCom said in a statement.\n<\/p>\n

RCom's revenue from the Indian operation stood at Rs 4,693 million, down 2.5% from Rs 4,812 million in the same period of the previous year.\n<\/p>\n

The company's global operations segment reported revenues of Rs 1,185 million, up 5.3% from Rs 1,125 million in the same period of 2015-16. <\/p>\n

The company said its revenue per minute from phone calls increased 1.6% yoy (Y-o-Y), while total minutes of use decreased 4.8% to 10,000 during the period under review. <\/p>\n

RCom said its revenue per user increased 5.7% to Rs 148. <\/p>\n

"The total data client base has grown 9.9% yoy to 38.9 million, including 25.4 million 3G and 4G clients in the first quarter," the statement said. <\/p>\n

Total data traffic to 102 billion MB increased 10.4% year-on-year, he added. <\/p>\n

RCom shares closed at Rs 51.05, 2.72% higher on BSE.\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
