Twitter forbids any political advertising in the service, saying that social media companies offer advertisers an unfair advantage in spreading targeted and misleading messages.<\/p>\n

Facebook has revealed that since its release in early October, it's possible to lie freely without actually checking for advertising by politicians or campaigns.<\/p>\n

CEO Mark Zuckerberg told Congress last week that politicians have the right to freedom of speech on Facebook. <\/p>\n
