Internet services across the country were affected on Tuesday night, following a failure that developed in international submarine cables connecting Pakistan.<\/p>\n
"We regret to inform you that due to the international failure of the submarine cable, internet services are affected throughout Pakistan," Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) said in a Twitter post.<\/p>\n
"Our technical teams are working to completely restore Internet services. We apologize for any inconvenience caused and thanks for your patience."<\/p>\n The Pakistan Telecommunications Authority, in a statement, said: "Due to a failure in the international submarine cable, internet services have been affected."<\/p>\n "As of today, some areas of Pakistan experienced a disruption in services," the PTA spokesman said.<\/p>\n The telecommunications authority said PTCL, along with international organizations, "are working to determine the location where the fault developed."<\/p>\n According to ProPakistani<\/em>, two submarine cables have been disconnected, interrupting internet in Pakistan.<\/p>\n "IMEWE and SEAMEWE 4, which carry almost 50 percent of Pakistan's Internet traffic, were disconnected due to a fault in a location that has not yet been determined," he said.<\/p>\n Internet users across the country will experience reduced speeds until the fault is repaired, ProPakistani<\/em> he said, adding that internet service providers "are in the process of moving the cargo to other underwater systems, which will balance the load to some extent."<\/p>\n There was also an Internet outage earlier this year, in June, when services were interrupted due to "multiple cable cuts."<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/pre>\n<\/pre>\n Source: https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/1513609\/internet-services-disrupted-across-pakistan-as-submarine-cables-go-offline<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Internet services across the country were affected on Tuesday night, following a failure that developed in international submarine cables connecting Pakistan.
