LAHORE \/ ISLAMABAD: A team of doctors spent another day trying to discover the cause of a sudden drop in the platelet count of Nawaz Sharif, who had been admitted to the Lahore Services Hospital a week ago, amid speculation that I might have to take it. to some other health facility within the country or abroad for better treatment.<\/p>\n
However, the top management of his party ruled out such a possibility, arguing that a decision could not be made before seeing an improvement in his condition.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) will resume hearing on the request for suspension of the sentence given in reference to Al-Azizia on Tuesday, as the provisional bond granted to the former prime minister expires on Tuesday (today ).<\/p>\n
He has been under treatment at the Hospital de Servicios since October 21. His platelet count was around 28,000, about 122,000 less than the normal minimum level, on Monday. "Despite the best efforts of doctors, it has not yet been diagnosed why Nawaz Sharif platelets fall dramatically to a dangerous level," tweeted his personal physician, Dr. Adnan Khan.<\/p>\n

The panel of doctors faces a difficult task. They strive to create a balance between doses to increase their platelets and the medications given for their heart condition. According to the medical council, headed by the director of the Hospital of Services, Dr. Mahmood Ayaz, the patient's platelets fluctuated due to the medications he was given for his heart disease.<\/p>\n
"The diagnosis has not yet been determined," he said, adding that he had severe "atherosclerotic coronary and carotid arterial disease with comorbidities (HTN, DM, CKD) and due to the serious subsequent effects of the treatment he had developed IMSEST (non-ST elevation myocardial infarction); being administered in the ACS protocol.<\/p>\n
There were rumors that his family could press to transfer him to the Medical City of Sharif, near his residence in Jati Umra, despite the government spokesman's claim that Nawaz Sharif was happy with the treatment he was receiving from the panel of 10 doctors in the Hospital of Services. Such a measure, however, could help the government transmit the delicate responsibility of its treatment to its family.<\/p>\n
Regarding his transfer to any other health center within the country or abroad, the general secretary of the Pakistan-Nawaz Muslim League, Ahsan Iqbal, said: "The first and most important effort of doctors is to stabilize the condition of Mian Sahib. " Once his condition stabilizes, the issue of his departure abroad will arise. Meanwhile, the High Court of Islamabad (IHC) will resume the hearing of the petition requesting the suspension of the sentence delivered on Tuesday in reference to Al-Azizia when its provisional bond expires.<\/p>\n
Earlier, on October 25, the National Office of Accountability (NAB) had requested that it submit its response to the request from an IHC division bank composed of Judge Aamer Farooq and the Judge Mohsin Akhtar Kayani. The court also requested an exhaustive report from the medical board set up to examine Nawaz's health in addition to asking his personal physician, Dr. Adnan Khawaja, to inform the bank of his health status.<\/p>\n
Only one day later, the former prime minister's lawyer filed an application with the IHC stating that his condition was critical and that he required immediate release on bail. The NAB did not oppose the bond for "humanitarian reasons," while the federal and provincial governments did not oppose or favor their release. Subsequently, a provisional bond was granted to the former prime minister until Tuesday.<\/p>\n
However, by linking the provisional bond order with some kind of "agreement," a single-member IHC court composed of the Chief Justice Athar Minallah carried out the contempt of judicial proceedings against television presenters.<\/p>\n
The bank of the special division, which granted a provisional bond to the former prime minister, said the provincial government did not follow the prison manual and the prison rule that allowed them to release a prisoner for medical reasons. The bank also ordered Punjab's chief minister, Usman Buzdar, to appear in person in court on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
The then judge of the accountability court Mohammad Arshad Malik had sentenced Nawaz Sharif to seven years in prison at the reference of Al-Azizia Steel Mills in December 2018.<\/p>\n
Seven months later, his party released a secretly recorded video of Judge Malik in which he confessed to condemning the former prime minister under duress.<\/p>\n
However, the judge then accused PML-N supporters of blackmailing him for his acquittal and filed a complaint with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) against the suspects Nasir Butt and others.<\/p>\n
The IHC chief justice will also accept Nasir Butt's request in which the latter requested to present evidence against the former accountability judge in the judicial record.<\/p>\n
