At least 40 people died in the wake of a wave of anti-government protests in Iraq.<\/p>\n

Security personnel in Baghdad's capital were reportedly killed in tear gas containers fired.<\/p>\n

According to the report, half of the victims were killed in raids against militia groups and government offices.<\/p>\n

Protesters are demanding more jobs, better public services and corruption.<\/p>\n

The AFP said security officials quoted about 2,000 people in the country as injured in protests.<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, similar protests were brutally cut by security forces and nearly 150 people were killed.<\/p>\n

According to government reports, authorities admitted that they used excessive force to quell the anxiety.<\/p>\n

Ahead of recent protests, Iraq's leading ministers and the United Nations demanded arrest.<\/p>\n

    Prime Minister Adele Abdul Mahdi, who took office Friday Friday one day earlier, warned the protesters that violence would not be tolerated.<\/p>\n

    He promised a cabinet reorganization and reform package to address the protesters' needs, but many are still unsure.<\/p>\n

    Hundreds of protesters gathered at Baghdad Tahrir Square on Friday morning.<\/p>\n

    The security forces used tear gas to evacuate when the government building was about to enter the green zone on which it was based.<\/p>\n

    Police and medical sources told Reuters that two demonstrators were killed in tear gas containers in Baghdad. <\/p>\n

    Baghdad photos show at least one person.<\/p>\n

    The security guard died on fire by a paramilitary headquarters in the southern city of Diwaniyah, according to the AFP.<\/p>\n

    There is no official numerical check. Iraq's Interior Minister says 68 security forces were injured across the country.<\/p>\n

        The protests began in Baghdad on October 1. Most of the participants were young and unemployed.<\/p>\n

        After security forces used ammunition against protesters, anxiety escalated and spread to other cities and cities.<\/p>\n
