Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery has big news for everyone who pays for streaming. The companies plan to integrate Paramount+ and HBO Max into a single platform once the $110 billion deal closes.
CEO David Ellison confirmed the move during a call with investors. The combined service will serve directly as Netflix and Disney+. With a library of over 15,000 titles, your queue will be full.
A library built for the binge war
The new platform brings together some of the biggest franchises in one place. Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, Top Gun and SpongeBob SquarePants will live under the same digital roof. The company says it has more than 15,000 movies and thousands of hours of TV.

Ellison told investors that HBO would maintain its identity. “Our view is that HBO should stay HBO,” he said. The combined service is expected to reach more than 200 million subscribers, putting it in the same league as Netflix.
How Mergers Affect Your Wallet
No one knows yet how much it will cost. The company did not disclose the price of the integrated app. But trading follows patterns. Much like Disney folded Hulu into Disney+, this deal combines the two services into one. You may end up with one bill instead of two. Or, you may face new prices that reflect the larger catalog.

Ellison called the merger consumer-friendly during the call. Integrated sports rights include the NFL, Olympics, and UFC. This provides real benefits to the service. But whether you actually save depends on your monthly price.
When can we expect new services?
The deal isn’t over yet. Shareholders vote in early spring. The target deadline is the third quarter of 2026. Regulators can slow things down. California Attorney General Rob Bonta has already promised to scrutinize the deal for concentration issues.
If cleared, it will run after the combined platform is shut down. This gives subscribers a few months with their current settings.
The company has committed to producing at least 30 theatrical films per year across both studios. So new content is constantly coming. Keep your login information handy for now. The streaming environment has changed again.
