Vidyut jammwal to headline and bankroll espionage thriller ib 71. Actor Vidyut Jammwal announced on Monday that he is working with National Award-winning Telugu director Sankalp Reddy to produce an espionage thriller called IB 71. The film will mark Vidyut’s production forays with his banner Action Hero Films.
The film is co-produced by Reliance Entertainment.
IB 71, starring Vidyut in the role of an intelligence officer, is said to be based on real events. According to the production company, the film “details the story of an Indian intelligence officer deceiving an entire Pakistani organization and giving the Indian army the necessary advantage to face a two-sided war.”
Vidyut Jammwal said IB 71’s story appealed to the producers as well as the actors in it. “Some of the most exciting episodes in Indian history inspired IB 71,” he said. With this film, Action Hero Films pursues an effort to unravel the exciting stories imagining by talented writers. I fully trust Sankalp Reddy’s vision as a filmmaker,” Vidyut said in a statement.
Vidyut Jammwal also posted the news on Instagram, and in a note, IB 71 “is a step toward fulfilling our commitment to producing quality films. The project is the result of teamwork and trust.”
Sankalp Reddy, famous for his nationally award-winning Telugu-Hindi bilingual war film Ghazi (2017), said what makes the IB 71 special is the “different” kind of heroism it explores.
“IB 71 is about what goes on before victory and there is a very different kind of heroism at work in the story.
These are the topics I linked to when the story was being explained to me. I’m so happy that the crew showed so much faith in my vision. This movie is really special to me,” Sankalp said in a statement. IB 71 is expected to start construction in December 2021.
