Hungama 2 Actor Paresh Rawal’s Comedies

Hungama 2 actor Paresh Rawal’s comedies that ridicule physical deformities are absolute filth. Veteran actor Paresh Rawal, known for his intense acting and impeccable timing of comedy, says his 40-year film journey has taught him to stay true to his character to deliver good comedy.

Appearing in landmark comedies such as Chachi 420 (1997) and Hera Pheri (2000) starring Andaz Apna Apna and Kamal Haasan in 1994, Rawal said that an actor must let go of his arrogance to perform persuasively.

He has to be true to the character he plays he said.

You can’t go on set saying, ‘Today I’m going to be a comedy jockey, let’s see who dares do better than me’ It’s a bad idea and harmful. Just treat it like a character. Your situation, your dialogue will do comedy. You don’t have to. Don’t sacrifice your character for the sake of laughter,” Rawal told PTI.

The 66-year-old actor is Rohit Shetty’s Golmaal, Anees Bazmee’s Welcome (2007), and the 2010 film Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge? It was some of the most memorable comedies of the last 20 years. In particular, his relationship with film director Priyadarshan led to films such as Hungama (2003), Hulchul (2004), Garam Masala (2005), Malamaal Weekly (2006), and Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007).

Rawal believes it takes the hard work of the entire cast and crew to make a truly entertaining film.

“Comedy never works alone. If I was the best on Hera Perry and Suniel Shetty and Akshay Kumar didn’t do anything, no one is bigger than me. Comedy is made not only of your actions but of everyone’s reactions.” However, actors have their own rules when it comes to signing comedy films.

Rawal advocates a certain “purity of comedy”. That’s why anything that includes sexual satire or a film that brings down another person doesn’t work for him. “I hate vulgar, double-meaning comedy. Comedy mocking body deformities is absolute filth. I steer clear of that… but a good comedy movie is a requirement of all times. Before or after Corona, there has to be good comedy.”

111The actor reunited with Priyadarshan in 2003 for Hungama 2, the sequel to the director’s hit comedy of the same name. The film will be released on July 23rd at Disney+ Hotstar. Rawal said that after more than 20 years of partnership, the two have built an incredible mutual trust. Priyadarshan knows what to extract from him and knows how filmmakers see the world, the actor said.

“Filmmaking is a weak field. Can an actor deliver what the director wants? In this case, we both know each other personally. I know how he sees the world. We connect a lot. After packing up, as we sit and chat, I tell him about the play I’m doing and he’s talking about the Malayalam movie he’s making.

Evolution continues. The more you get to know that person, the more you respect him and the more you know that the equation is never compromised.” For the most part, Rawal said he relied on Priyadarshan’s simple ideas before filming. But sometimes he said it had to do with saying “never” to his beloved colleague.

“Sometimes you don’t say no to some people. nail. You want to be with them and support them because even they are jeopardizing their careers and respect. That’s how it should be.” In Hungama 2, Rawal joins actors Shilpa Shetty Kundra, Meezaan, and Pranitha Subhash. It is a remake of Priyadarshan’s 1994 film Minnaram, starring Mohanlal.

He found the perfect project for Rawal to learn in Hungama 2, where she plays Shetty Kundra’s opposing unstable husband. He said he loves the film’s story as much as he thinks about his reunion with Priyadarshan almost a decade after the 2012 comedy Kamaal Dhamaal Malamaal.

“I like to work with good people who know how to do the job,” he said. Priyadarshan is a fantastic director and Ratan Ji is a good producer. The movie also had a good story. Whenever there is an opportunity to do something new, there is always a desire and temptation to try it.

The package deal of all these factors is what drives me to do the project,” he added. Hungama 2, a Venus Records and Tapes LLP project, is also produced by Ganesh Jain, Chetan Jain, and Armaan Ventures. It will premiere on July 23 on Disney+ Hot Star.
