Fast and Furious 9 on Track for Pandemic-best Opening

Fast and furious 9 on track for pandemic-best opening in North America with 66 million dollars. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the latest Fast and Furious film F9 is set to hit a $66 million release in the North American domestic market.

This will be the largest opening weekend collection of all movies in the region since the coronavirus outbreak.

The action film, released last June 25, brings back director Justin Lin, who directed four other films in the franchise. Lin wrote the script with Alfredo Botello and Daniel Casey. F9 features a huge ensemble cast including Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, John Cena, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, Sung Kang, Michael Rooker, Helen Mirren, Kurt Russell, and Charlize Theron.

The film was released in Korea in May. According to Box Office Mojo, total global box office revenue currently stands at $329 million. Fast and Furious 9 received positive reviews, but that’s just it. The review aggregation site Rotten Tomatoes has a score of 61%.

According to the critical consensus, “F9 has broken through the franchise more than ever, but Justin Lin’s flair for outrageous set-pieces continues to hum the action.” There is no F9 release date yet in India.
