Deepika Padukone's movie Chhapaak will be released on January 10. Even before the release, the film had a problem. Attorney Aparna Bhatt filed a petition for a movie ban at the Patiala House Court in Delhi. Aparna fought for years with Lakshmi Aggarwal.
Aparna said in a petition that she had fought for Lakshmi Aggarwal's lawsuit for years, but she received no credit in the film. Because of this, she wants to stop the release of the film. Previously, the author filed a copyright case about the film.
This petition was filed by a writer named Rakesh Bharti. In it, Rakesh claimed to have written stories about the lives of victims of acid attacks. Rakesh demanded credit for the film. In this case, the Bombay High Court said Wednesday that no one could claim copyright for stories inspired by real cases.
Recently, Deepika arrived at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). A few days ago, violence broke out on the JNU campus. This hurt many students and teachers. Deepika met the injured here. It has also been part of a protest against violence. Some admire Deepika's movements, while others are talking about boycotting her movie Chhapaak.
