Educational institutes in Punjab to remain closed on Thursday

The Punjab government has announced that educational institutions will close on Thursday due to the presence of extreme smog and dangerous toxins in the air.

Mr. Sardar Usman Buzdar Punjab on Twitter said, “The sudden increase in smog will cause all schools in Lahore to close tomorrow. We are closely monitoring #LahoreSmog. The administration has already been warned and has done its job to expand measures against crop burning and other factors affecting smog. ”

Lahore's smog continues to increase as the Air Quality Index (AQI) once again broke previous records and reached 732 Wednesday Wednesday.

According to the details, the Zeenat Block's AQI was at 732 and the Punjab Assembly area was lagging behind at 731's AQI. Similarly, residents of Upper Mall, DHA Phase 5 and Liberty suffer from AQIs of 647, 401 and 376. each.

According to Air Visual, an organization that has free access to the world's largest air quality database and ranks the world's cities according to AQI, Lahore is one of the five worst cities in terms of air quality.

But unlike the government of India, which caused a health emergency in the capital, the Pakistani Punjab government did not take specific steps to combat the smog threat.

The government seemed interested in shifting the blame instead of taking measures to control air pollution.
