Speculation swirls as Shahbaz in no hurry to meet Nawaz – Pakistan

LAHORE: The president of PML-N, Shahbaz Sharif, seems in no hurry to meet with his imprisoned brother Nawaz Sharif, which generates speculation that he is angry at the rejection of his opinion regarding Azadi March of Jamiat Ulema-i- Islam (JUI-F) & # 39; on October 31.

The opposition leader in the National Assembly omitted on October 10 "a very important meeting" with former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the Kot Lakhpat prison, citing his back pain. Similarly, he did not pressure the National Responsibility Office (NAB) to allow his meeting with him (Nawaz) at the Thokar Niaz Baig headquarters on Thursday.

Nawaz has been in the custody of NAB Lahore in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case since Friday.

A party member said Dawn that since Nawaz had completely ignored the suggestions of his younger brother about the "March of Azadi" of the head of JUI-F, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Shahbaz seemed to be recording his protest by delaying his meeting with him (Nawaz).

Interestingly, despite his back pain, Shahbaz met his son Hamza Shahbaz in the Kot Lakhpat prison a couple of days ago. Hamza has been in pretrial detention at the Ramzan Sugar Mills mills and assets beyond the cases. Shahbaz also chaired several party meetings.

On Wednesday, the former Prime Minister of Punjab skipped a hearing in the cases of Ashiyana Housing and Ramzan Sugar Mills for "severe pain in the spine."

Shahbaz is reportedly not in favor of joining the JUI-F protest, as it is considered to be against the powerful establishment that is said to fully support Pakistan's Tehreek-i-Insaf government. However, Nawaz rejected all concerns expressed by Shahbaz and some other high-ranking party leaders and ordered him to prepare to join Maulana's protest plan, whether it was a demonstration or a sit-in.

When a reason was requested from PML-N Secretary General Ahsan Iqbal for the act of "skipping" Shahbaz's meetings with Nawaz, he said: "Shahbaz Sharif wrote to the NAB on Wednesday asking permission to meet with Nawaz Sharif."

He said he was scheduled for meetings on Thursday, but "special permission" was required to see a prisoner in NAB custody.

Dispelling the impression that there were differences between the two brothers, Mr. Iqbal said: "Both brothers are on the same page in the march of the JUI-F." Shahbaz Sharif's suggestions were more or less the same as those of Nawaz Sharif. "

Maulana Fazlur Rehman comes to Lahore on Friday (today) to see Shahbaz to discuss the protest strategy. Subsequently, they will go to a press conference.

Meanwhile, a personal physician was not allowed to see PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz in the Kot Lakhpat prison.

PML-N spokesman Marriyum Aurangzeb said Maryam was not well and, despite this, Dr. Adnan Khan was not allowed to meet her. "In case of any adverse effect of this action on Maryam's health, Imran Khan will be responsible," he warned.
