One policeman martyred, 10 others injured in explosion at Quetta’s Double Road – Pakistan

A policeman was martyred and five others were injured in an explosion in the Double Road area of ​​Quetta on Tuesday night, police said.

The explosion of the improvised explosive device (FDI) also left five civilians injured, said Abdul Razzaq Cheema, Deputy Inspector General of Quetta (DIG). DawnNewsTV.

The aim of the explosion was a police mobile, police sources said.

According to police, unidentified criminals had planted an IED on a motorcycle parked on the side of the road. The bomb exploded when the police mobile passed the motorcycle on Double Road.

Television images showed a fire at the scene of the explosion after the strong explosion, which also caused damage to two nearby vehicles and stores.

The deceased was identified as a member of the police rapid response force.

The injured police officers were taken to the Quetta Civil Hospital, where an emergency was imposed.

Police and Frontier Corps staff arrived at the site when an investigation into the incident began.

The incident occurs weeks after four police officers were injured in a bomb blast that occurred near their vehicle in the South Bypass area near the Quetta-Sibi National Highway.

It occurs a day after opposition lawmakers in the Balochistan Assembly demanded the creation of an investigation committee to investigate the increase in terrorist attacks in the province.
