Nintendo switches have achieved 15 million milestones sold in North America, and hybrid consoles are expected to continue momentum for four years after launch.
According to Nintendo's internal data, Nintendo switches, including the recently released new version Nintendo Switch Lite, have sold more than 15 million units in North America since the console was released in March 2017.
Also, in the first nine months of 2019, Nintendo Switch sales in North America increased more than 20{7be40b84a6a43fc4fae13304fce9a2695859798abfc41afd127b9f8b21c5f9c5} over the same period last year. NPD Group, which tracks sales of the US video game industry, said the device was the best-selling video game console for 10 consecutive months.
To further enhance the success of the Nintendo Switch, its predecessor Wii U sold 13.5 million units worldwide. Nintendo Switch sales in North America exceeded this figure, and as of June 30 this year, worldwide sales of 358.87 million units have already more than doubled Wii U's lifetime sales.
Nintendo also said 14 titles of the Nintendo Switch sold more than one million copies, and four games sold more than 6 million copies. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Super Mario Odyssey, Super Smash Brothers Ultimate.
This year's game lineup has certainly helped launch more than 15 million consoles in North America.
