Khanewal, a woman in Mian Channu, accused her husband and brother-in-law and her son of torturing her for refusing to make tea, according to a first information report (FIR) recorded on Monday.
In the FIR lodged by the woman at the Sadar police station in Mian Channu, the victim said he was at his residence on Sunday when his brother-in-law and son arrived with axes, claiming he had refused to make tea.
She said her brother-in-law hit her with an ax on the right side of the nose and hurt her. Also, his son hit his hand with another ax. According to the woman, her brother-in-law took her out of her hair and, instead of saving her, the woman's husband also started beating her.
When others in the area heard her make noise, they entered the house, says the FIR.
The woman was taken to a hospital to treat her serious injuries.
A case has been registered against the suspects under Section 354 (assault or criminal force on a woman with the intention of indigning her modesty) of the Criminal Code of Pakistan.
Station officer (SHO) Malik Tayyab Sarfaraz said that following the instructions of Khanewal District Police Officer (DPO) Umer Saeed Malik, searches were conducted and two of the main suspects, the husband and the nephew of the Woman, they were arrested.
The DPO said teams had been formed for the arrest of the third suspect, the victim's brother-in-law, who, according to the DPO, should be arrested soon.
