Earlier this week, UFC welterweight contender Colby Covington threatened to hit Dana White when UFC chairman wrapped his welterweight belt around the waist with UFC 245.
Corbin Turn said, “I can tell someone who doesn't wrap around my waist. Submission radio. "When he tries to wrap his back, he will take the belt and hit it with his face."
Covington has had a bad relationship with White since the ATT (American Top Team) product eliminated the temporary welterweight title just three months after winning the UFC 225 against Rafael dos Anjos. Chaos accused the UFC of providing U.S. Labor wages for an upcoming welterweight title fight against Kamaru Usman in UFC 245.
White, who has created many enemies over the years (the fight promoter wanted to fight Tito Ortiz in a 2007 boxing match), responded to Covington's recent commentary on a press conference after the ESPN 6 fight at the UFC.
White asked about Covington hitting and threatening him with a UFC belt (h / t Damon Martin of MMA Fighting). "He is an idiot with a big mouth open."
Perhaps White should instruct another UFC staff member to wrap the belt around Covington to be on the safe side.
UFC 245: Usman vs. Covington will be held at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on December 14 this year.
