Torkham border to start night operations from Monday

PESHAWAR – Torkham Border will start a trial run on Monday and open an intersection on a 24/7 basis as previously announced.

Prime Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Mahmood Khan added that Prime Minister Imran Khan will formally open the border soon.

The CM, presiding over the review meeting of the agreement for clock operations at the border, ordered that all agreements be finalized.

KPK also instructed all relevant departments to make the best possible efforts to ensure success.

The CM is fully prepared, including the posting of relevant officials, and the work is currently underway in two shifts at the border and will be extended to three shifts starting next Monday.

The Secretary of State insisted that adequate lighting be in place to ensure nighttime operations at the border, insisting that 24/7 service opening will be guaranteed at all costs.

Mr. Khan said an amazing nightly visit will be held at any time after next Monday. The meeting was attended by Minister of Information Shaukat Yousafzai, Secretary-General Shahab Ali Shah, Deputy Director Khyber, Customs and NLC.

Foreign Minister Shahmeh Mohd Kuresi announced that the torca border with Afghanistan would remain open after Afghanistan's Ashrafgani visited Pakistan.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that the opening of the Torkham border will shorten the transit time.

The Torka border is sporadically closed after cross-border terrorism that affects trade. There is no border at night.
