Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said today that Syria's Idlib faces a gradual devastation, as Aleppo did in a war-torn country.

His remarks came at a press conference following a meeting with Czech Prime Minister Andrey Barbies in the presidential complex of the capital Ankara.

The President of Turkey said, “Idlib is slowly disappearing. Idlib is on the verge of disappearing and tearing in the same way as Aleppo, ”the Turkish president said.

Erdogan also said that he would make all the necessary contacts with the local parties to find a solution to the Idlib situation.

"Turkey doesn't shut out and close refugees, but it would be happy if it could help establish a safe area." [in Syria]"

Babis welcomed Erdogan's proposal for a Syrian safe zone, saying, "Turkey doesn't want money, but it's a safe zone to invest in schools, homes and houses."

Babis also said that dealing with bilateral trade relations with Turkey could increase the volume of trade between the two countries.

The Czech Prime Minister emphasized the great cooperation potential between the two countries, especially in areas such as energy and defense.

Babis commented on the opportunities in the field of architecture and said, "I want to see a Turkish company in my country."

Erdogan said Saturday that Turkey would apply its own plan of action if Turkish soldiers could not control Syria's safe zone.

In three weeks at the UN General Assembly meeting, Turkey will use the last possibility to find a compromise with the United States in building a safe area along the Euphrates River, he said.

Since 2016, Turkey has carried out two major military operations in the northwest of Syria: the Euphrates Shield Operation and Olive Branch, eliminating the terrorist groups Daesh and YPG (the Syrian branch of the PKK terrorist organization).

Selected as a terrorist organization in Turkey, the United States and the EU in more than 30 years of terrorist campaigns against Turkey, PKK is responsible for about 40,000 deaths, including women, children and infants.
