On Monday, a murder case was recorded against three police officers for allegedly torturing Salahuddin Ayubi, a robbery suspect who was arrested after his video of opening an ATM, grimacing and sticking his tongue to the camera CCTV had gone viral.

The case was recorded in a complaint by Ayubi's father against the A-Division City station officer, Mehmoodul Hassan, and the sub-inspector of investigative officers Shafaat Ali and assistant assistant inspector Matloob Hussain. Ayubi had died in police custody on Sunday.

Ayubi's father, Muhammad Afzaal, in a first informative report (FIR) housed at the Division A police station in the city of Rahim Yar Khan, where the deceased had been arrested, stated that his son had a mental disability and I hadn't been in contact with him for a while. According to the FIR, since the deceased had a mental illness, Afzaal had tattooed Ayubi's name and address on his son's arm for identification purposes.

Afzaal said police did not inform him about Ayubi's arrest and learned of his son's death through the media on Sunday. Upon hearing the news, he tried to contact the police, but received no information, after which Afzaal, along with two of his nephews, went to Rahim Yar Khan, where he discovered that Ayubi had been arrested for robbery and allegedly went killed during interrogation.

The author also said that the police had performed the post-mortem examination of Ayubi without informing the family.

The FIR was registered under Sections 302 (punishment for murder) and 34 (acts performed by several persons in compliance with a common intention) of the Criminal Code of Pakistan.

Ayubi, a resident of Gujranwala, was arrested in Rahim Yar Khan when he was caught robbing an ATM on Friday. On Sunday morning, he was reported dead. According to the spokesman for the district police officer, Zeeshan Randhawa, Ayubi was behaving like a "madman" locked up when he suddenly felt bad. He said the man was unconscious when he was transferred to the emergency room at Sheikh Zayed Medical College Hospital, where doctors confirmed his death.

While talking to reporters today, Afzaal said his son had been arrested multiple times before, but was always released due to his medical condition. Afzaal's legal advisor, Usman Khawar Ghuman, expressed his hope that the nominees will be arrested and justice will be done.

Meanwhile, the focal person at Sheikh Zayed Medical College Hospital, Rana Ilyas Ahmed, said Sunrise that samples of Ayubi's body had been sent to the Punjab Lahore Forensic Science Laboratory. He added that it will take a month to prepare a final post mortem report.

Ahmed did not comment on whether Ayubi's body had been handed over to the family.

According to Randhawa, Ayubi was dead when he was taken to the hospital. According to the hospital's focal point, the director of the emergency room, Dr. Burhan Mustafa, could not comment on the condition in which he was taken to the hospital.

A video of Ayubi had gone viral on social networks a few days ago in which he could be seen stealing an ATM in Faisalabad and sticking his tongue out jokingly to both the camera in the corner of the cabin and the one installed in the machine. .
