Jofra Archer's increase in UK cricket continues even after signing an ECB central contract in all formats.
The archer from Barbados played an important role in the victorious World Cup campaign and re-series after his international debut in May shortly after becoming a representative of England. He is one of six players who received both the 2019-20 season test and white ball contract announced on Friday.
In total, the selectors were awarded 10 test contracts and 12 white ball contracts.
Batman Rory Burns received a test contract with 390 runs in 10 innings, becoming the third highest run core of the Ashes series. After much discussion about his role as a spin bowling all-rounder, Batsman Joe Denly, who missed the World Cup starter, received his first white ball contract.
Moeen Ali, who was excluded from the second trial with Australia and no longer participated in the ashes, missed the trial contract, as did Adil Rashid. Both contracted in three forms last year, but limited trading for the next season. Rashid hasn't played since the World Cup final in July due to a right shoulder injury that required painkiller injections during the tournament.
Jason Roy, who fought to establish himself as a test Batman through the ashes, received only a white ball contract.
Alex Hales, Liam Plunkett and David Willey missed the 2019-20 white ball contract.
The selector can also award a limited number of incremental contracts and went to Burns, Denley and Jack Rich in 2018-19, in recognition of the team's performance during this season. Leach and Tom Curran signed an incremental contract from October 1 to 2019-20.
