Heritage Plaza, one of Houston’s most recognizable skyscrapers, to get makeover


Brookfield Properties, one of Houston's largest office space owners, will begin construction at Heritage Plaza, the latest renovation project next month.

One of the best-known buildings in the city skyline, the 53-story Heritage Plaza has a granite pagoda similar to the Mayan temple. 1111 Bagby St.'s 1.1 million square foot tower was opened in 1987.

The renovation designed by Kirsey is expected to be completed at Brookfield Properties in January 2021.

This change includes many features that are widely used in modern office space design. The lobby will encourage tenants to use the space. There will be a seating area, plant walls and "social stairs".


New tenant amenities include conference-style meeting spaces and technology upgrades to existing meeting spaces.
