West Indies Vice President Hayley Matthews withdrew from the ODI team for her home series with Australia. Matthews was accused of violating the Cricket West Indies Code of Conduct following an incident in Antigua Wednesday. CWI sent a press release from Coolidge on Thursday to announce the withdrawal two hours before the scheduled start of the first ODI to Australia.
"This issue has been referred to the CWI Disciplinary Court," CWI said. "CWI will not mention it anymore." The incident occurred after a West Indies training session on Wednesday, and Matthews will now go home from Antigua to Barbados.
Matthews was a member of the 13-team team of the ODI series and appointed Guyana's 21-year-old hitter Sheneta Grimmond to replace the CWI Interim Selection Panel.
The West Indies will do three ODIs and a lot of T20I against Australia.
