Manhandled by police for trying to meet ailing father: Aseefa – Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Aseefa Bhutto-Zardari, calling it a violation of basic human rights, attacked Friday against the government of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) for moving former president Asif Ali Zardari of the Institute of Medical Sciences of Pakistan (PIMS) to Adiala prison despite having serious heart problems and warned that if something happened to Mr. Zardari, then the People's Party of Pakistan would hold the "selected government" accountable.

At a press conference at Casa Zardari, Ms. Bhutto-Zardari said she went to meet her father in the hospital but was not allowed to meet him. He regretted that instead of receiving medical treatment, the former president was transferred to the Adiala prison.

She was accompanied by PPP leaders Sherry Rehman, Raja Pervez Ashraf and Farhatullah Babar.

Ms. Bhutto-Zardari said that the doctors had informed her that they were pressured for Mr. Zardari to return to the Adiala prison. “But Zardari Sahib's health condition forced him to remain in the hospital for further tests and treatment. Two medical examinations were performed, one by NAB and the second by judicial authorities. Both tests clearly showed that I needed medical attention and treatment, ”he said.

“Three of his heart arteries (from Zardari) are completely blocked. He is suffering from serious spine problems and other ailments, "he added." The denial of medical law is the denial of human rights and justice. It is political victimization, "she said.

In a series of tweets, she said: “I went to see my father today, with a court order in hand. The hospital doors were closed when they saw me, patients were not allowed in or out. What authority does this selected government have to close a complete hospital and deny the entry of patients and citizens?

“Finally he managed to enter only to find the police blocking stairs and elevators. I waited for my father in the elevators when the police decided to form a chain to stop me from seeing him. Arrested, pushed, mistreated by the police. Is this Madina Ki Riyasat? "He added.

"God forbid if something happened to Mr. Zardari, then we will hold the selected government accountable," said former Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf, demanding that the PPP co-president be transferred to the hospital immediately.

Former Senator Farhatullah Babar said that the day the "selected Prime Minister" was asking people to protest against human rights violations in Kashmir, he himself had violated the basic rights of a former president and warned that he should be Ready to endure the same when the time comes.

Senator Sherry Rehman said there would be consequences if the selected government did not renounce its conduct and warned that it will have to face the resistance of the PPP.
