Joseph to replace Udana for Patriots; Simmons to temporarily take Munro’s place

West Indies 'Lendl Simmons replaces New Zealand opener Colin Munro with Trinbago Knight Riders' first three matches. Munro will be in Sri Lanka for the upcoming T20I from September 1, and Simmons will fill CPL matches on September 4, 6 and 8.

This will be Simons' fifth franchise at the CPL, which appeared in his home franchise in Guyana Amazon Warrior, St Lucia Jukes, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, Jamaica Thalass and Trinidad.

For the patriots, Alzarri Joseph will replace the Sri Lankan fast Isrouudana, whose international commitments make the full CPL unavailable. Joseph has represented Patriot since 2016 and has returned to competitive cricket since injuring his arm at the IPL in April.

"It's always disappointing to lose a player until the tournament starts," said Patri Singh's Patriots Director, Robin Singh. Alzarri has local players with world-class success. "I am very happy to have Alzarri with us as a very promising young and fast bowler. We believe that the Patriots have a very strong squad this year. We are confident that we will make the knockout stage and make our first title."

Zouks announced that the first two matches were replaced by Krishmar Santokie and the rest of the tournament was replaced by Colin de Grandhomme due to a team change with Lasith Malinga.

Thisara Perera misses the first two matches replaced by Najibullah Zadran in Afghanistan, but Niroshan Dickwella misses the entire tournament, replaced by Cameron Delport in the first two matches and replaced by Hardus Viljoen in the remaining matches.

South Africa's Beuran Hendricks will no longer be available due to international commitments and his position will be occupied by Dominican allrounder Kavem Hodge.

For Tallawahs, Jamaican batter Kennar Lewis will replace the American Xavier Marshall, which will not be available until September 14 due to international appointments. Marshall was written as Tallawahs' ICC Americas player, but can be replaced by Caribbean or overseas players according to draft rules.

Lewis joins Chris Gayle and Andre Russell in Tallawahs to make their first match against Knight Riders on September 6.
