Jamyang Tsering Namgyal was born on Sunday, August 4, 1985 (34 years old; As 2019) In Ladakh, Matho Village. He received primary education at Leh's Central Buddhist Institute.
He holds a bachelor's degree in art from Jammu University. When Jamyang was in college, he was president of the All Ladakh Student Association (ALSA) for a year.

Jamyang joined BJP in 2012 when he was in college. On January 1, 2013 he BJP spokesman and secretary in Ladakh. In 2014, Jamyang was in charge of the campaign for the Tuwangstan Chewang, the cause of the former House of Representatives from Ladakh.
