Kabul: The Afghan government says the Taliban once again attacked Kunduz, one of the largest cities.
A spokesman for the spokesman, Cediq Sediqi, says Afghan security forces are fighting off attacks in parts of the city.
A spokesman said the rebels took a stand in private areas. The officials of Kunduz cannot contact you by phone.
The attack comes as the Taliban and US envoy continue negotiations ending the longest US war in Qatar. In recent weeks, both sides have signaled a close agreement.
Kunduz fell to the Taliban in 2015 and has been attacked several times since.
In a Twitter post, Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid calls this attack "large."
