Nvidia: our 12nm Turing architecture is even more energy efficient than the 7nm Navi

AMD is the one that introduces 7 nm GPU and CPU in the market. While AMD is working well in the CPU market, things are different in the GPU sector. According to Nvidia, its 12 nm Turing architecture remains the most efficient GPU on the planet.

AMD's 7 nm Navi architecture is supposed to be more energy efficient compared to Nvidia Turing architecture. According to Nvidia, the performance benefit per watt of Turing's architecture is quite evident even with its 12 nm process node.

On the other hand, AMD states that Radeon RX 5700 is 10{7be40b84a6a43fc4fae13304fce9a2695859798abfc41afd127b9f8b21c5f9c5} faster than Nvidia RTX 2070. However, it remains to be seen whether the Navi GPU can handle the ray tracing in real time or not.

AMD isn't really talking about Ray Tracing support for its Navi GPU. Since PlayStation 5 uses Navi as a graphical solution and supports real-time ray tracing, the possibility that Navi supports ray tracing is really high.

In the CPU sector, AMD is on track to dominate the market. AMD introduced its Ryzen 3000 CPU line, including AMD Ryzen 9 3900X, Ryzen 7 3800X, Ryzen 7 3700X and 6 Core Ryzen 5 desktop CPUs.

Ryzen 9 3900X comes with 12 cores / 24 threads, 70 MB cache, 3.8 GHz base clock and 4.6 GHz clock pulse and AMD is asking for $ 499 for the CPU.

Not only that, the CPU managed to beat the Intel Core i9-9900K which has 8 cores / 16 threads and a 5.0 GHz pulse clock for all its cores. This is just one of the reasons why AMD won Computex 2019.
