Scotland have requested two WCL championships this week against Chris Sol, Stuart Whittingham and Kenya in December for the InterContinental Cup match against Ireland in Dubai.
Due to the proposed change to the eligibility rules of the ICC, the two athletes were not included at first, prioritizing the county career. Whittingham signed with Sussex, and Sole, the son of former rugby union international David Sole, played for Hampshire. The ICC now agreed to withhold the new rule, revised in October, after lobbying with associate members.
Scotland coach Grant Bradburne, at the time of the initial squad release, said: "It shouldn't get in the way of reaching the stadium at an unprecedented level. A lot of players are feeling. You will want to use challenging buildings to build them. "
Sole, who has 13 turnstiles in 8 ODI, and Whittingham, who debuted last month, will step up Scottish bowling in the 2019 World Cup qualifying tournament.
Last week Scotland defeated Papua New Guinea 2-0 in the two-time ODI series. The top four teams will advance to the World Cup qualifying in Zimbabwe, and third place Scotland will block their spot if they beat Kenya in any match in Dubai.
